"Alcohol Effects on teenagers"
How and why are people (teenagers) drinking and abusing of alcohol in such an early age?
Alcohol is the number one abused substance by teenagers in the United States. There are studies by the NIAAA (National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcholism) wich say hat about the half of the 8th graders have at least tried alcohol and one fourth have been drunk. We can compare these statistics with 10th graders. Wich more than the half have tried alcohol and almost the half have been drunk.
With these statistics we can see that alcohol is widely abused at a very early age. But we can help these people, or the future teenagers, to prevent alcholism.
How does the early use of alcohol impact on teens future?
There have been many studies about the age that teenagers first try alcohol. But there is one study that tells us that people first use alcohol at less than 15 years old. We can compair this with people who first use alcohol at the age of 21 or older, wich is about a 3 percent. This is a very low number, wich tells us that there is a severe problem in young adults. Some consequences of teenager alcohol abuse:
